How to install the Cassidy Outlook Extension

The Cassidy Outlook Extension allows you to access your Cassidy assistants and workflows directly from the Outlook app.

Follow these steps to install the Cassidy Outlook Extension:

  1. Navigate to the Cassidy extension: Go to the Cassidy Outlook extension in the Microsoft Office Store.

  2. Install the extension: Click on the "Get it now" button to start the installation process.

  3. Sign in to Microsoft (if needed): If you're not already signed in to your Microsoft account, you'll be prompted to do so before continuing with the installation.

  4. Confirm your account details (if needed): A confirmation dialog will appear showing your account information. Click "Get it now" to verify that you're signed in with the correct account. If needed, you can click "Edit your details" to make changes. Review the terms of use and privacy policy information.

  5. Accept installation request: A pop-up window will appear asking if you would like to install Cassidy for Outlook. Click on the "Continue" button to proceed with the installation.

  6. Access the extension: Once the installation is complete, you'll see the Cassidy icon in the pop-up menu that appears when clicking on the three dots at the right of the Outlook toolbar.

  7. Add Extension to Toolbar (optional): By clicking on the 'customize toolbar' option from the pop-up, you can add Cassidy to your Outlook toolbar for easier access.

Using the Cassidy Outlook Extension

After installing the Cassidy outlook extension, you can start using it to streamline various tasks directly from your Outlook app:

Automate email responses:

  1. Open an email: Open the email you want to respond to.

  2. Open Cassidy assistant from toolbar: Click on the Cassidy icon from your toolbar. The Cassidy assistant will open in a side panel.

  3. Use suggested prompts: Use or rework the suggested prompt: A suggested prompt will be automatically populated in the chat box, providing a starting point for your email response.

  4. Insert the response: Once you're satisfied with the generated content, you can insert it directly into your email by clicking on the "Add to Reply" button

Summarize long email threads:

  1. Select an email thread: Open a lengthy email conversation that you need to catch up on.

  2. Request a summary: Click on the Cassidy icon from your toolbar and ask for a summary of the thread.

  3. Review key points: Cassidy will analyze the conversation and provide a concise summary of the important points, action items, and decisions.

By integrating Cassidy directly into your Outlook workflow, you can save time and effort in your daily communications while maintaining professional and consistency in your email responses.
