Installing the Cassidy Word and Excel Extension

The Cassidy Word and Excel Extension allows you to access your Cassidy assistants and workflows directly from your Microsoft apps

How to install the Cassidy Word and Excel Extension

Follow these steps to install the Cassidy Word and Excel Extension:

  1. Navigate to the Cassidy extension: Go to the Cassidy AI Word and Excel extension in the Microsoft Office Store.

  2. Install the extension: Click on the "Get it now" button to start the installation process.

  3. Sign in to Microsoft (if needed): If you're not already signed in to your Microsoft account, you'll be prompted to do so before continuing with the installation.

  4. Confirm your account details (if needed): A confirmation dialog will appear showing your account information. Click "Get it now" to verify that you're signed in with the correct account. If needed, you can click "Edit your details" to make changes. Review the terms of use and privacy policy information.

  5. Accept installation request: A pop-up window will appear asking if you would like to install Cassidy for Word and Excel. Click on the "Continue" button to proceed with the installation.

  6. Access the extension: Once the installation is complete, you'll see the Cassidy icon in the toolbar:

  7. Login to Cassidy: Once you open the extension, you will be prompted to sign-in to Cassidy:

Using the Cassidy Word and Excel Extension

After installing the Cassidy Word and Excel extension, you can start using it to streamline various tasks directly from your Microsoft Office applications:

In Word:

  1. Open a document: Open the document you want to work with.

  2. Open Cassidy assistant from toolbar: Click on the Cassidy icon from the add-in pop-up. The Cassidy assistant will open in a side panel.

  3. Use suggested prompts: Use or rework the suggested prompt that will be automatically populated in the chat box, providing a starting point for your document work.

  4. Insert the content: Once you're satisfied with the generated content, you can insert it directly into your document by clicking on the "Add to Document" button.

In Excel:

Respond to RFP Questions Directly from Excel:

  1. Select the cell you want to answer: Click on the cell containing the RFP question you need to respond to.

  2. Add a prompt to ask for an answer to the question: Click on the Cassidy icon from your toolbar and enter a prompt asking for help with answering the RFP question.

  3. Insert content directly into cells: Once you get a response, click on the cell you want to copy the answer to and click on the "Add to cell" button to insert the AI-generated response directly into your spreadsheet.


By integrating Cassidy directly into your Word and Excel workflow, you can save time and effort in your daily document and spreadsheet tasks.
