How to set up and use New Email Received in Gmail Trigger

Run the workflow when a new email is received in Gmail. Follow these steps:

  1. Add a New Email Received in Gmail Trigger: Create a workflow with a New Email Received in Gmail Trigger, use an existing workflow with a New Email Received in Gmail Trigger, or change an existing workflow's trigger type to a New Email Received in Gmail Trigger.

  2. Add Gmail connection: If you haven't already, connect your Gmail account to Cassidy.

  3. Configure labels (optional): If you want to trigger the Workflow only for emails with specific labels, you can add filters to only pay attention to emails received in that inbox such as: Chat, Sent, Inbox, Important, Trash, Draft, and Spam.

  4. Configure exclude labels (optional): You can select any inboxes you would like to exclude from your results.

  5. Reference the Gmail variables: In the rest of your workflow, you can use the following variables from the New Email Trigger:

    • Email ID: The ID of the new email

    • Thread ID: The ID of the email thread

    • Labels: The inbox this email was sent to

    • From: The email addresses of the sender

    • Subject: The subject line of the email

    • Body: The body of the email

    • Attachments: Any attachments on the email

  6. Activate the trigger: In the New Email Received in Gmail Trigger block, click the toggle switch to turn it on.

Note: The New Email Received in Gmail Trigger will not activate the workflow for existing records. It only triggers the workflow when a new email is received in Gmail after the trigger has been set up.
