The HubSpot Tool allows your Assistant to access and search HubSpot data, enabling you to query customer information, view records, and ask questions about your CRM directly through chat conversations. This is a view-only tool designed for searching and retrieving specific information rather than analyzing large datasets.
The HubSpot Tool works best for searching specific information or small batch queries. For complex data analysis queries like "what is our average deal size this year" or "what is the change in ARR from Q1 to Q2", consider using other data analysis tools or exporting data from HubSpot directly.
For best results with complex tools, use a powerful model. Your Assistant has tools that work best with these recommended models: Claude 4 Opus, Claude 4 Sonnet, GPT-5, or o3.
Navigate to Assistants: Click "Assistants" in the left sidebar to access your Assistant dashboard.
Select your Assistant: Choose the Assistant you want to add the HubSpot Tool to by clicking on it.
Access the Tools tab: Click the "Tools" tab to configure available tools for your Assistant.
Add HubSpot: Click "Add Tool" and select "HubSpot" from the list of available tools.
Choose your connection method: Select between two authentication options:
Each user connects their own account (Recommended): Users sign in with their HubSpot credentials on first use, respects each user's individual permissions, and is best for teams with varying access levels
Use a shared HubSpot connection: All users access HubSpot through one account using your organization's existing connections
Set up shared connection (if selected): If you chose "Use a shared HubSpot connection," select the connection by clicking "Connect" if you haven't already connected one. You will be prompted to sign in and select the account, then accept the access request.
Add the Tool: Click "Save" to complete the setup.
Start a chat with your Assistant: Navigate to Chat and select the Assistant with the HubSpot Tool enabled.
Connect individual accounts (if using "Each user" option): When first using the HubSpot Tool, users will be prompted to connect their HubSpot account from within the chat itself. Click "Connect" when prompted.
Complete the connection: Click "Connect" again and you will be prompted to sign in with your HubSpot credentials and accept the access request.
Save your settings and continue chatting: Once connected, click "Save" to finalize the setup.
Your Assistant can now access HubSpot data to help answer questions about contacts, deals, companies, and other CRM information directly through chat conversations.
