How to set up and use the Update Google Calendar Event action
Update existing Google Calendar events directly from a workflow without manual edits in Google Calendar. Follow these steps:
Add an Update Google Calendar Event action: While editing a workflow, click the “+” button between existing blocks. This will open a modal where you can select from Cassidy's pre-configured actions. Choose the “Update Google Calendar Event” action to add it to your Workflow.
Rename the action (optional): If you want to make the action more descriptive or easier to reference as a variable later, enter a new name by clicking on the “...” in the top-right of the action box and selecting "Rename” from the dropdown to enter a new name.
Add Google Calendar connection: Connect the Google Calendar account that contains the existing event you want to update before proceeding. Click the action box to open the configuration panel on the right, then connect your Google Calendar.
Add details: Add values to the required and optional fields using variables from previous steps or manual inputs, including “Event ID”, “Event Title”, “Event Start Date”, “Event End Date”, and “Event Description”.
Add Event ID: The “Event ID” of the existing Google Calendar event is required to update it. You can add an “Event ID” in two ways:
Add details to the remaining fields: Enter values in the remaining fields in this section as needed.
Configure Optional Fields: Under the “Optional Fields” dropdown, you can select different fields if needed, including:
Calendar: Select "Calendar" to choose which calendar to add the updated event to. If no calendar is selected, the event will be added to your primary calendar only.
Timezone: The default is the time zone of the primary calendar. Select “Time Zone” if you need to change it.
Event Location: Select “Event Location” if you want to specify the location of the event.
Attendees: Select “Attendees” to enter either an array or a comma-separated list of email addresses of attendees.
Repeat Frequency: Select “Repeat Frequency” to choose a frequency to make this event repeat.
Send Updates: Select “Send Updates” to configure whether to send notifications about the event.
The action will successfully update an existing event in your Google Calendar with the specified details.
