How to install Cassidy's Google Chrome extension

The Cassidy Chrome Extension allows you to access your Cassidy assistants directly from your web browser, making it easy to engage with them while browsing the web. The extension is compatible with both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers.

Follow these steps to install the Cassidy Extension:

  1. Navigate to the CassidyAI extension on the web store: Go to the Cassidy AI extension in the Google Chrome Extension store. You can also access and use Cassidy’s plugin from the Microsoft Edge browser.

  2. Install the extension: Click on the "Add to Chrome" (for Google Chrome) or "Get" (for Microsoft Edge) button to start the installation process.

  3. Accept access request: A pop-up window will appear, asking for permission to add the extension. Review the access request and click "Add extension" to permit Cassidy to read websites.

  4. Pin CassidyAI extension (optional): For quick access, you can pin the Cassidy extension to your browser's toolbar. Click on the puzzle piece icon in the toolbar to open the extension menu. Locate the Cassidy extension and click on the pin icon next to it.

    Once the installation is complete, you'll see the Cassidy icon in your browser's toolbar. Click on it to open the extension and start interacting with your Cassidy assistants while browsing the web.

Configuring and using the Cassidy browser extension

After installing the Cassidy browser extension, you can easily customize its settings and start using it to automate various tasks while browsing the web.

Configuring the extension settings

  1. Locate the Cassidy tag: Locate the Cassidy tag on the bottom right-hand side of your browser window.

  2. Reveal the settings icon: Hover over the Cassidy tag to reveal the settings icon.

  3. Open the extension settings: Click on the gear icon to open the extension settings.

  4. Choose when to display the Cassidy tag: In the settings menu, you can choose when to display the Cassidy tag:

    • Show Cassidy icon on all browser tabs: Enable this option to display the Cassidy tag on every web page you visit.

    • Show Cassidy icon when selecting text: Enable this option to display the Cassidy tag when you select text on a web page.

  5. Save your preferences: After selecting your preferred settings, close the settings menu, and the changes will be automatically saved.

  6. Enable "View Page" toggle (optional): Beneath the chat interface, you will find the "View Page" toggle. By enabling the "View Page" setting, Cassidy can access and analyze the page content, providing more accurate and context-aware responses to your queries. Remember, you can always toggle off the "View Page" setting if you prefer to chat with Cassidy without the page context.

Using the Cassidy extension

With the Cassidy browser extension, you can streamline various tasks directly from your web browser:

Automate email responses:

  1. Locate the "Automate" button: When you are in your email (e.g., Gmail), locate the Cassidy "Automate" button next to the reply buttons.

  2. Open the Cassidy chat menu: Click on the "Automate" button, and the Cassidy chat menu will open on the right-hand side of your screen.

  3. Use or rework the suggested prompt: A suggested prompt will be automatically populated in the chat box, providing a starting point for your email response.

Automate LinkedIn messages:

  1. Find the "Automate" button: When you are on LinkedIn, find the Cassidy "Automate" button next to the message buttons.

  2. Open the Cassidy chat menu: Similar to email automation, click on the "Automate" button to open the Cassidy chat menu on the right-hand side of your screen.

  3. Use or rework the suggested prompt: A suggested prompt will be pre-filled in the chat box, helping you craft a personalized LinkedIn message.

Read content from websites:

  1. Open the extension: While browsing a web page, click on the Cassidy tag to open the extension.

  2. Interact with the chat assistant: Cassidy will analyze and read the content on the page, allowing you to interact with the chat assistant. Remember to have the "View Page" setting toggled on for Cassidy to read and understand the content of the page you're viewing.

  3. Gather insights: You can ask questions like "Summarize this article" or "Give me the key takeaways" to quickly gather insights and facilitate your research process.

  4. Select specific text: Additionally, you can select specific text on a page and engage with the Cassidy assistant to discuss or analyze the highlighted content.

By leveraging the Cassidy browser extension, you can save time and effort in your daily browsing activities, allowing you to focus on more critical tasks.
