How to select and switch assistants in a chat

Cassidy's chat interface allows you to easily select and switch between AI assistants during your conversations. This article will guide you through the process of selecting an assistant within the chat interface.

  1. Start a new chat: To select an assistant, begin by clicking the "New Chat" button in the left sidebar or on the "All Chats" page.

  2. Open the assistants dropdown: At the top of the chat interface (or in the text box), click on the assistants dropdown to view the available assistants.

  3. Browse available assistants: The dropdown will display a list of assistants, including:

    • Custom assistants: These are assistants tailored to your organization's specific needs and trained on your knowledge base items. See Assistants collection for more info.

    • Default assistants: Cassidy provides a set of default assistants, including foundational models like GPT-4, Claude 3 Opus, and Gemini Pro. These assistants are not trained on your organization's knowledge base but can still help with general tasks.

    • Cassidy's pre-built assistants: Cassidy offers pre-built assistants for common use cases, such as the Data Analyst, as well as the Cassidy Help and Use Case Assistant.

  4. Edit or favorite an assistant: If you need to modify an assistant or mark it as a favorite for quick access, you can do so directly from the assistants dropdown. Click the "Edit" or "Favorite" buttons next to the assistant's name.

  5. Select an assistant: Click on the assistant you want to use for your current chat. The chat interface will update to reflect your selection.

  6. Start chatting: Once you've selected an assistant, you can begin chatting with it by typing your message in the text box at the bottom of the chat interface. The assistant will respond based on its training and the knowledge base items it has access to.

When using the chat with a Q&A assistant, sources are cited.

If you click a citation, it will navigate you to the source file in your knowledge base.

  7. Switch assistants within a chat: If you need to change assistants during a conversation, simply click on the assistants dropdown and select a different assistant. The chat will continue with the newly selected assistant, allowing you to seamlessly switch between assistants as needed.

By following these steps, you can easily select and switch between assistants within Cassidy's chat interface, enabling you to leverage the power of AI for a wide range of tasks and conversations.
