How to deploy assistants to Microsoft Teams
To seamlessly integrate Cassidy assistants into your Microsoft Teams workspace, follow these step-by-step instructions:
Navigate to the Assistants page: Click on the "Assistants" tab in the left sidebar to access your list of assistants.
Select the assistant: Choose the assistant you want to deploy to Microsoft Teams by clicking on its card or opening the ellipses (more options) menu and selecting "Edit."
Access the External Deployments tab: In the assistant's settings, navigate to the "External Deployments" tab, then click on "Deploy via Microsoft Teams" in the sidebar.
Configure the Microsoft Teams app: Update the App Color Icon, App Outline Icon, Short Name, Long Name, Short Description, and Long Description for your assistant. Once you've entered this information, click on the "Create Microsoft Teams Deployment" button.

Authorize the deployment: When prompted, click on the "Deploy to Microsoft Teams" button. If you're not already logged in to Microsoft Teams, you may need to do so at this point.
Alternatively, you can click "Deploy Manually" and follow the steps to download the app package and install it yourself.
Complete the authorization: Once you've logged in to Microsoft Teams, proceed through the authorization process to grant Cassidy access to your Microsoft Teams workspace.
Select the team and deploy: Choose which team to install the assistant app in and click "Deploy to Microsoft Teams".
Start a new post in a channel: To use the assistant in a Microsoft Teams channel, you'll need to mention the app using the @ symbol followed by its short name. The assistant will only have access to that specific post's history.
Start a direct message: To interact with your newly deployed assistant, start a new direct message in Microsoft Teams. The assistant will have access to the full chat history when using direct messaging.
โFor any user to DM the assistant, they have to manually add the app, otherwise they may see the following error message: "You cannot send messages to this bot". Follow the below steps to add an app:Click Apps in the left sidebar
Find the app by searching for its name and click on the app
Click the Add button
Start a new chat addressed to the app
Note the following restrictions:
Archived channels won't show up
After adding or removing the assistant, the Teams app list may take some time to update, but you can still @ mention it immediately
Bots in private channels are not supported
Bots cannot see the subject line of messages
