# Set up Outlook Connectors

> Connect Outlook to an Agent, choose whether each person signs in with their own account, and control which email actions need approval.

Let an [Agent](https://docs.cassidyai.com/agents/overview.md) read, draft, and organize Outlook email while you decide exactly which actions it can take on its own.

## What you'll learn

* How the Outlook [Connector](https://docs.cassidyai.com/agents/connectors/overview.md) gives an Agent live access to email in a conversation
* Why each person should usually connect their own Outlook account instead of sharing one mailbox
* How to set each action category to **Always allow**, **Ask every time**, or **Disabled**
* How to test the Connector with a real conversation before you share the Agent

## Put it into practice

**1. Add the Outlook Connector to an Agent**

Open the Agent, go to the **Setup** tab, and find the **Connectors**
section. Click **+ Add Connector** and select **Outlook**.

**2. Choose how people sign in**

Select **Each user connects their own account** so every person uses their
own Microsoft permissions. Choose a shared connection only when you want
people to act through the same mailbox on purpose.

**3. Set action permissions**

Review **Read Emails**, **Draft Emails**, **Categorize Emails**, **Send
Emails**, and **Delete / Archive**. Start with read access and keep sending
and deleting set to **Ask every time** or **Disabled** until you've tested.

**4. Test it in a chat**

Add the Connector, open a chat with the Agent, and sign in to Outlook when
prompted. Ask the Agent to summarize a recent thread or draft a reply, then
confirm it behaves as you expect.

> [!WARNING]
>
> A shared Outlook connection lets people draft, send, reply, and label email as
> the same mailbox. Use one only when that behavior is intentional and tightly
> controlled.
